BELT SLIPPAGE

Tighten or replace with correct belt

If you have a belt drive pressure washer make sure your belt is not slipping.  If it is slipping then your pump will not be running at full speed, hence lower flow and pressure.

If the belt is loose, try tightening by moving the pump or motor.  Usually there is a small amount of adjustment to allow for stretched belts.

The belt does not have to be loose to slip.  Check the belt for oil.  A small amount of oil will allow the belt to slip.

It may also be that the belt is simply worn out.  Check to see if the side of the belt that runs on the pulley.  If it's shinny, it's probably worn out.

If you have a two belt pulley make sure you replace both belts at the same time with a matched pair.  Matched pairs are exactly the same size.
