If
you have a belt drive pressure washer make sure your belt is not
slipping. If it is slipping then your pump will not be
running at full speed, hence lower flow and pressure. If
the belt is loose, try tightening by moving the pump or
motor. Usually there is a small amount of adjustment to
allow for stretched belts. The
belt does not have to be loose to slip. Check the belt for
oil. A small amount of oil will allow the belt to slip. It
may also be that the belt is simply worn out. Check to see
if the side of the belt that runs on the pulley. If it's
shinny, it's probably worn out. If
you have a two belt pulley make sure you replace both belts at the
same time with a matched pair. Matched pairs are exactly the
